AZYouthforce is a dynamic career exploration program designed to help young adults prepare for and connect to workplace opportunities.
This program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley places trained teens into paid internships with local and national companies. In addition to a mentor on site, each intern works with an Internship Manager who coaches them to be successful in their placement.
History
Started in 2018, AZYouthforce is a youth workforce development program through the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley.
Process
Teens devlop valuable professional skills through our workforce academy and then are matched to paid internships.
Purpose
To close the opportunity and career readiness gap by preparing local teens for success and helping them pursue the career of their dreams.

Featured Internship: Jiffy Lube
Jiffy Lube and BGCAZ have partnered to create an internship experience for teens interested in the automotive field.
Following completion of the AZYouthforce Academy, interns will work as Courtesy Technicians or Lube Technicians.
AZYouthforce's Impact:

Provides teens ages 16-19 with valuable, paid work experience and positive relationships with mentors to inspire career and educational growth while earning money for family and continuing their education

Offers teens critical hard and soft skills workplace training and a Internship Manager to help ensure success in the program

Pairs local and national employers with motivated, enthusiastic, and prepared teens as staff

Life as an Intern
Young adults who are selected for the program will have unique, paid internship opportunities through AZYouthforce to explore a variety of careers and pathways and develop their own personalized plan for success.
As well as internships, AZYouthforce teens will take part in our Academy to learn financial literacy, communication, interview skills, and so much more to prepare to succeed!
Participants work closely with our Workforce Development coaches to ensure their success.
